Happy Memorial Day!!
Threaded Light doesn’t celebrate just today but everyday. Those men and women become soldiers, selfless, hardworking, machines with a heart to serve a beautifully broken nation. No matter the dishonor Americans show them, they show up for us.

Those who have lost their lives for this nation are lifted up to the Lord, He who demonstrated this love for His people too. What an honor and blessing it is to live in a nation under God.

SCRIPTURE SUNDAYYYYYY

This week I was reading through John and stumbled upon “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.”

I sat there for almost two hours learning about sheep and shepherds.

Shepherd’s guide their flock through personal sounds, songs, and names to guide them. Sheep have voice recognization and tone. Even when they’re mixed up in other flocks, sheep are able to know, hear, and follow the call of their Shepherd. Sheep flea from unfamiliar voices. They have discernment and are emotional. They don’t follow one who rushes them from behind, but they follow the leader they trust and have relationship with. Their leader is their survival strategy.

Sheeps survival isn’t based on strength or defense. They are solely dependent on their Shepherd for their own food, water and protect protection.

How can we as the Lords sheep apply this?

In order to trust our Shepherd, we need to understand who He is, read His word daily. That is how we will begin to hear his voice more and more, and from then we build discernment through the Holy Spirit to sift through the unfamiliar voices.
Those negative thoughts, those feelings of shame and doubt feelings of being unworthy, and never good enough.
Those will begin to quiet down because the Lord will call you home time and time again.

My biggest personal take away from this is that the sheep survival strategy is through their leader. So then I asked myself who is leading me? Is it truly the Lord? Or is it social media. Or friends. Family. TV shows. Understanding how emotional sheep are, and how reliant they are on their leader for food. Water and protection helps me to understand that the Lord isn’t calling us to be strong, but he calls us to be weak. I don’t need to be strong with the Lord I can be soft, kind, loving, emotional, calm, and at peace.

He will guide and provide. Be a sheep! 💌

but my Jesus Wept Too hoodie reminds me that Jesus may not also be scared of bees but He understands my fear 😳.

John 11:35
The humanity of Jesus. This verse is key into truly grasping the truth that He hears you. He sees you. He knows you. Time and time again I wrestle with feelings of feeling misunderstood or like God is so great how can he understand the hurt I feel.
But I have to refresh my mind with truth. The Lord, came down into human form. This verse highlights the nature of God.
Christ has come to raise Lazarus from the dead and yet still sits with those mourning. He is so heavily impacted by the cries of those who loved lazarus, a strong enough sympathy to make him cry.

So when you ask your self,
“Does God even care?”

come back to this verse you highlighted.
Jesus wept. And He does.
In the time of suffering, in your hardest moment they have a purpose in Gods will. And through that hardship as we wait for that plan to be completed.

Follow the word not the herd.
